CHAPTER EIGHT ADAM’S SIN

Adam’s Sin 83 sparks maintain a constant yearning to be extricated from it and be delivered . When a great light of abundant holiness descends, through man’s intention and his mystical act, the captive sparks gather round it, cleave to it, and finally, they ascend together with it . It happens when one draws up the light and elevates it to its divine source ; emerging from defilement, in whose depths he has sunk himself . In this manner of descent for the purpose of elevating, man maintains, through the intentions of his prayer, the great destiny of the sifting of the divine sparks . But this sacred mission is maintained not merely through the intentions of prayer . The work of sifting encompasses man’s whole life, and he is commanded to maintain it even in his everyday life and in all his physical actions . In the light of this doctrine of the sifting of the sparks, the extrication of holiness out of the prison of defilement, the whole of human life is turned into a sacred mission of ...  אל הספר
