1 Introduction Archaeology is a field in humanities that involves the study of human behavior in the past based on the materials preserved . It involves field work and careful observation and documentation of findings, defining the stratigraphy and contexts in which the findings were found, and inferring from these human activities . Archaeology has evolved from a field of research that was subordinate to the “rules” of history, anthropology, or art history, into an independent discipline while establishing its own research methods and discussion topics .
